A bustling, interesting cosmopolitan city of more than a million people. The city centre / sea front is mostly modern high rise, mixed in with archaeological sites and old churches and other places of religious worship. Some excellent museums and a sprinkling of sculptures and statues. It is worth taking a taxi to the top of the old town to see the old Byzantine city walls and walk down through the old city to the new. Taxis are not expensive. There are lots of places to eat out, with a wide range of styles and prices. there is a 'hop on hop off' bus tour of the city, but we didn't have time to try it.

Thessaloniki is a great place for history. it has been a melting pot of different cultures. it has had its tragedies , a fire that destroyed much of the city just over a hundred years ago. There was the rounding up and transportation of Jews to Auchwitz and similar extermination camps. Three Empires ruled Thessalpniki in the past Rome , The Byzantine Empire and the Ottoman Empire. So much to see and do with great food at good prices . Above all very friendly people,

Very interesting historic sights - the White Tower, Rotunda, Yeni Kule, as well as countless churches.
Great nightlife with lots of interesting bars and restaurants catering for all tastes and pockets. I'd recommend Gorillas and the Blue Cup for drinks, especially the cocktails.
The staff were some of the most lovely people I’ve met at a hotel. They were so warm and welcoming and their restaurant recommendations for dinner were great!! Thank you to all of the staff from front desk to the great people serving breakfast! You’re the best! The rooms were pretty nice too! Clean, comfortable and everything I need. The location was perfect - walking distance to everything. I would happily stay here again if I am ever lucky enough to return to Thessaloniki!
We had a wonderful experience! The hotel and the staff were great! We were welcomed with vouchers for the bar and an upgrade of the room. Our room was big and with sea view. The staff were friendly and welcoming. The breakfast had different choices and we could ask from the bar our favorite Freddo Cappuccino! The hotel is in the city center right on the shopping street! We couldn't ask for a better stay in Thessaloniki!
Excellent place to stay in Thessaloniki:
Parking available nearby (about 20m away from the hotel entrance) - 15EUR/day.
Room was very clean, delicious breakfast in the morning.
The staff was very friendly and helpful (e.g. got a lot of useful info when we've asked the lady from the reception about nearby restaurants and shopping centers).
The apartment was super clean and really gave you the feeling of a five star hotel. Christina and her husband were very friendly.
In the beginning we were worried that it would be very noisy at night because it's located in the centre of Thessaloniki, but fortunately the apartment was very quiet even on a Saturday night.
It was quite near the centre. And we found parking quite close. Also you can't expect 5 star premises if you re taking your dog. So to be fair it was quite good. Unfortunately we didn't manage to meet the owner but he tried his best to meet us but we were all the time out and about exploring beautiful Thessaloniki.
New luxury apartment at the heart of Thessaloniki and a few meters from Parking Plateia. The 5 star hotel where we usually stay during our short visits was fully booked and this apartment did not feel like a downgrade. There are several great breakfast restaurants nearby to choose from.
Rating: ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ (5/5 stars)
My one night stay at the apartment in the center of Thessaloniki was absolutely perfect! From the prime location to the impeccable amenities, everything exceeded my expectations. I highly recommend this apartment for anyone visiting the city.
Best location in Town. Everybody should take the Baby-Potato’s or the Omelett. Breakfast was delicious. The staff is very competent and polite. We liked our stay because of the Hotel very much. Thank you Thessaloniki, thank you Excelsior Hotel. See you soon! 🙌😀
The Place was extremely clean, and well designed, the apartment had everything that you can possibly need. This place can be classified as a +4Star Hotel very good value for money. Highly recommend this place if you find yourself in Thessaloniki.
oh.... what a surprise. A 5 stars Boutiqe Hotel Hidden 4 minutes from the Pozar Bath.
Hotel is new and sparkling clean, room was big and beautiful, well decorated and with a view to the mountains and the pool. Service was no less than perfect!
Perfect apartment in an excellent location. Also the 4 Travellers team (Caravan hotel) were extremely kind and really helpful! Very well done and looking forward booking the same on my next visit to Thessaloniki. Will definitely recommend.
the hotel was located right in the city center of Thessaloniki. Many restaurants , cafes , bars open passed midnight so there were no worries with food. Also there was a supermarket to buy additional water , etc which was a major plus .
The quality of the apartment was better than most 5 star hotels, I love how clean it was, good location with an excellent restaurant around the corner Taverna O Thodoros.
A fine hotel, overlooking the sea and close by the main attractions of Thessaloniki.
Very comfortable, friendly and helpful staff, good wifi. Breakfast was very good.
